Professional Accounting Development

Updated: Jun 22, 2023

Ella, who joined us at the end of last year as Accounts Assistant, has wasted no time in starting her professional career development with Styles & Associates.

At the end of January Ella took the first in a series of exams towards gaining a ‘Diploma in Professional Accounting’ and we are delighted to announce she received her pass result last week. This qualification covers complex accounting and finance topics and tasks, leading to students becoming confident with a wide range of financial management skills and applications. Students gain competencies in drafting financial statements for limited companies, recommending accounting systems strategies and constructing and presenting complex management accounting reports.

The initial exam covered ‘Personal Tax’. This unit covered fundamental knowledge of the three most common taxes that affect taxpayers in the UK: Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance Tax. The qualification means that Ella has the knowledge to:

  • Understand principles and rules that underpin taxation systems.

  • Calculate UK taxpayers' total income.

  • Calculate Income Tax and National Insurance contributions (NICs) payable by UK taxpayers.

  • Calculate Capital Gains Tax payable by UK taxpayers.

  • Understand the principles of Inheritance Tax.

At Styles & Associates we support professional accounting development and encourage our team to continue to improve their knowledge and skills.
